With the guiding principle of "learn to build before learning to design," Land & Design merges David's experience as a construction manager/builder and an award-winning architect. Having worked on projects ranging from highly crafted mountain estates to brain health medical hospitals to bespoke real estate developments and owner representation,
Born in Mexico and raised in Houston, David received his B.S. in Construction Management from Colorado State University, where he learned to build under the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. After a year-long solo fly fishing trip through remote regions of Patagonia, David returned to complete a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Houston. David brings over twenty years of experience leading clients and diverse teams of professionals through the development and design gauntlet to help bring exceptional projects to life.
Locally, David is proud to support local non-profits whose missions align with his mission to support thoughtful city building through sustainable and culturally meaningful ways. On hot summer days, you can also find David competing in cannonball with his wife and two daughters at the Barton Springs diving board.
